The Vigilant Freedom/910 Group

The Vigilant Freedom/910 Group started in late September 2006 with 28 members, our citizens' network. In six months, we now have over 1,000 active members in 40 U.S. states and 21 countries, organized through online communities. In March 2007, chapters began to meet locally and organize public education campaigns in several nations and U.S. states. View the most recent 100 headlines of our network of over 200 bloggers, used to distribute news and analysis throughout our coalition of coalitions.

To join us

start by registering at the Vigilant Freedom/910 Group forum, providing a summary of your interests and background or skills that you can bring to our efforts. The forum is moderated, focused and collaborative - a citizen's online think tank. Registration at the forum constitutes agreement to comply with our policies on ethics, rules of engagement and procedures.

State chapters are now starting in Maryland, Florida, New York, California, Virginia, Ohio, and Texas. National chapters are starting in the UK and Denmark. The Forum is for members to develop strategy, tactics, and ideas for specific objectives and projects. We are also co-developing educational and advocacy projects with numerous organizations, including the Center for Security Policy, the Victory Caucus, Gathering of Eagles, Christian Action Network, SIAD and others.

The group uses the online forum, the Vigilant Freedom group blog and many members’ blogs, a weekly email newsletter, an online distance education collaborative workspace for all organizational activities. The Center for Vigilant Freedom website is in development and will be a clearinghouse with organizational profiles on individuals and groups in member countries who are working to roll back sharia laws, defeat jihad and protect liberty.

Vigilant Freedom/910 Group members work in these six activities:

Networked, distributed citizens’ think tank

Individuals, local and national organization leaders, and both print and online authors meet in an online forum in both private and public areas. This work has defined the organization’s mission, set our objectives, developed individual projects, and is now the organizing center for building state and country chapters.

Research-on-demand

Our membership includes private investigative firms, many retired professionals in military and corporate security, many professional online corporate researchers and the alternate media of the blogosphere.

Citizen Investigations

We have started regional research to track Islamist efforts to impose Sharia on local schools, local legislatures and councils, zoning exceptions for Mosques, censorship of criticisms of Islam or the Koran, and similar efforts across civic and political institutions. These efforts (in specific projects, with deliverables due in late spring 2007) are now underway in the U.S., the UK and Denmark.

Networked, distributed public education and advocacy

We distribute a weekly email newsletter with 5-10 action alerts for our members, which they then redistribute through their blogs and associations. These action alerts include alerts from other organizations, since our goal is to support all groups working towards our shared mission. Our members have participated in over 60 action alerts in the last two months.

Citizen Journalism

Our members have created an international team to record, edit and distribute video recorded at events or for public education. We recently provided the only video shot of the January 20, 2007 “Clash of Civilizations” debate between Daniel Pipes and Ken Livingstone.

Political organizing and action

In the last month, our emerging chapters in several countries and states/provinces within those countries have helped organize and brought members to political rallies in Virginia, Washington, DC and Copenhagen. Our European chapters have formed a coalition with several other groups in the UK, Denmark, Germany, Belgium, Sweden and other countries to organize the 9/11/2007 rally in Brussels to Stop the Islamification of Europe.
