Pipeline News has put up an article and petition to show support for resolute Dutch politician Geert Wilders:
WE THE UNDERSIGNED, wish to register our full and unequivocal support for Mr. Wilders and his democratic right to freely express himself on this most urgent issue. Silencing him would be seen as a tremendous victory for the Islamists and an act of dhimmitude, submitting to their intimidation. Furthermore, we view with alarm the increasingly strident and violent tone of the jihad against Europe and the West and we wish to join in solidarity with Mr. Wilders in voicing our unyielding opposition to it.

I fully support Geert Wilders’ right to exercise his freedom of speech rights, but at the same time I cannot endorse signing this petition, as it requires too much personal information to be given to sign!
It’s a problem that the physical address has to be given. Surely wouldn’t be fun if the information fell into the wrong hands…
Must be doable with less?

I signed with only town & state.
I used a fictitious street address.
I agree that it’s a problem requiring the info. It’s undoubtedly for credibility, but at the same time it exposes signers to potential retaliation. This is the problem with online petitions where the security of info provided is not always absolutely guaranteed. I’ll pass the comments on to PipelineNews that set up the petition.
Geert Wilders is one man who clearly deserves support. He is also one with powerful enemies and it is not just the jihadists who would like to silence him. The ones who are responsible for importing them into our societies may be his biggest and most dangerous enemy.
I would like to be able to refer readers to this petition, but I think from the comments made that it should wait until the security concerns are addressed. Thanks to Pipeline for their efforts and for security steps to clear this.
