How Many Accommodations?
On the November 9 edition of The Gathering Storm Radio Show, Dan Zaremba of the Australian Islamist Monitor surprised WC and me when Mr. Zaremba spoke of Muslim-only bathrooms at one of the universities in Australia. Having grown up during the 1950s and 1960s in the Washington, D.C., area, I immediately thought of the many signs like the following:
I found this January 28, 2007 article about Muslim-only bathrooms in Australia:
A ROW has erupted over Muslim-only washrooms at La Trobe University that can be accessed only with a secret push-button code.
Muslim students have exclusive access to male and female washrooms on campus, sparking claims of bias and discrimination.
The university and Islamic leaders have defended the washrooms as vital to Muslim students’ prayer rituals.
[...]“If Muslims are saying ‘we are good Australians and want to integrate’, why are they insisting on separate washrooms?” [Australian Family Council spokesman Bill Muehlenberg] said.
Victorian Muslim community leader Yasser Soliman said the washrooms were necessary.
He said the separate facilities were also due to concerns from non-Muslim students.
“Muslims need to wash their feet before prayer and in the past there have been complaints about them washing their feet in sinks, so this is a happy medium,” he said.
Wudu, the ritual washing which Muslims must do before praying, can involve a lot more than washing feet in sinks. Read about wudu HERE. I don’t wonder that some non-Muslim students objected!
But complete wudu is not required. Massah, wiping over socks and shoes, is permitted. From this source:
[Massah] enables the Muslim to not have to wash his/her feet each time he/she makes wudu (ablution). This is usually helpful for travelers, people who are sick and cannot perform complete wudu, or when it is too cold. But there is no restriction on the average person (man or woman) so anyone may wipe over the socks. Some scholars recommend it over washing, because they say it is something in which Allah has given us easiness, and we should accept it and apply it often.
Continuing now with the article from the Herald Sun:
Mr Soliman said most universities provided Muslim-only prayer and washrooms for students.A La Trobe University spokesman said the washrooms were established with the advice of senior Muslim religious leaders.
He said the university also had a Christian chapel with a meeting room and four chaplains from major denominations had offices.
La Trobe University Christian Union vice-president Richard Thamm backed the washrooms.
“It’s part of their religion, they need to wash in a special way before they pray,” he said.Should Muslims be allowed their own washrooms? Post your comments below.

Any Christians-only facilities? Jews only? Buddhists only? Hindus only? Atheists only? Can’t you just hear the outcry if there were such segregated-by-religion facilities?
Right here in the United States, we’re following a similar path to dhimmitude, though we haven’t yet, as far as I know, reached the point of Muslims-only bathrooms. From “Shari’a by the Inch” in the October 12, 2007 edition of Investor’s Business Daily:
• At airports, where authorities have agreed to Muslim taxi drivers’ demands to build footbaths in public restrooms for Islamic washing and praying.• On college campuses, where trustees have agreed to demands by the Saudi-tied Muslim Student Association to add Islamic holidays, prayer rooms and footbaths.
• In Congress, where officials have set aside a room for a growing number of Muslims to meet and pray inside the otherwise high-security Capitol building.
• At Quantico, where Marine brass have agreed to build an Islamic center at the request of a former Gitmo imam who previously insisted on Islamic meals, Qurans, prayer beads, oils and other amenities for the terrorists held there.
• At West Point, where Army officials have followed Quantico’s lead and set up their own mosque for Muslim cadets.
• In Brooklyn, where school officials agreed to provide local Muslims and Arabs with their own publicly funded madrassa.
• In Detroit, where city planners have caved to demands to let mosques broadcast the call to prayer in Arabic five times a day, including the early-morning hours, noise ordinances be damned.
Where will the West draw the line and say, “This far and no further”? Consider the following from Al Khilafah:
In The Name Of Allah Most Gracious Most Merciful
Assalaamu alaykum wa rahmatuallahi wa barakatuhuSo Called”Islamic Democracy” is Forbidden
Shura [seeking the opinions of others] Is Not Democracy
Democracy is government by the people ,Rule of majority. With majority votes ruler is elected, with majority votes the ruler is ruled throughout i.e the people are rule via majority vote. In Islam, the ultimate authority doesn’t belong to people; it belongs to Allah alone. That means that both the ruler and the ruled in Islam are subject to a higher criterion for decision-making, that is, divine guidance. If the people—the rulers and the ruled—are truly believers, the final say in the interpretation or understanding of these divine laws would have to be within those laws. So the ruler made by man can never overide the rules set by Allah subhanawatala. Previous religious communities took their religious leaders [for their lords beside Allah (At-Tawbah 9:31).Islam does not permits this.
[...]
[I]t is not for us to set the ruling ,ethical or moral codes or invent our frames of reference. The risalah is the message of the prophets. Islam is the deen and the Qur’an is the last testament. Muslims believe in the previous messengers and the books sent to them which no longer exists authentic . The Qur’an lays down the broad principles on which human life should be based universally, as it is the last revealed message from Allah, and Muhammad, the Prophet of Allah, established a model system of Islamic life in accordance with these principles. The combination of these two elements — Tawheed and risalah — is called the Shari ‘ah (Law).
[...]Today we hear a new concept which was never followed by Khulafa e rashideen /pious Caliphs nor later rulers since 1400yrs.Misintepreting few verses on consultation, few people think that rule of majority is allowed in Islam…
[...]
[Required are the following:]
[...]
4. Economic,Interest free economy, No capitalism,Halaal food
5. Judicial laws [a]All capital punishments,no alcoholism,gambling,bribery,theft,adultery [b]Moral police
And in rest of the rule ,majority will have their say.
What’s left? Keep reading. It’s coming.
Continuing now with the above Islamic source:
Verses of shura-Consultation has been mistakenly taken as democracy voting and democratic rule.[...]
In democracy, the majority opinion is always binding.Islam’s verdict on Shura is different.
[...]
The Muslims are responsible for the implementation of the Islamic laws.
[...]
Democratic Election Is Forbidden,Neither is shura a democratic desicion…
[...]
Lets see whether we have a history of democracy or not.
“The rule is to none but Allah” [6:57] so there is no room for democracy[...]
Shura is not democratic government,it is only consultaion irrespective of minority or majority opinion
[...]
Muslims are a single ummah/nation ,not the ummah of majority….
At long last, we get to what’s left for majority rule:
In depth what goes into the hands of majority is as follows.
1.Religious-building mosques, religious instituations will go into the hands of the majority.
2.Social laws-cultural influence depending upon the majority view, educational benefits, hostitals, allowances to weak members of the society will go into the hands of the majority.
3.economically -increase in privatisation, utility of Zakat money, bussiness transactions, industrial management, apropriate distribution of wealth, jobs will go into the hands of the majority
4.Foreign policies will effect, according to the likes and dislikes of majority foreign trade will run, majority’s verdict on Jihad, involvement of majority on security issues will go into the hands of the majority.
The author then returns to the point of the article:
Islam does not recognises majority as head, leader or leading force.Too many chefs spoil the broth….[...]
People Must Obey the authority,Its not authority that obeys the people.…
On and on goes the above page, a veritable sea of words citing mostly the Haditha (Does the writer have hypergraphia, temporal lobe changes associated with epilepsy and mania?), in an apparent attempt to convince the ummah that the Caliphate is the will of Allah. The refrain is the same: Islam and democracy are incompatible.
As the West submits in various small ways to shari’a law, we strengthen the arguments of those seeking to establish the caliphate.
